Code of Ethics
  • Comply with federal, provincial, and local regulations.
  • Provide worker's compensation and garage keeper's liability insurance.
  • Provide evidence of ongoing training for all management and technical personnel.
  • Provide a Minimum two-year written "workmanship" guaranty.
  • In the case of warranty disputes, be prepared to accept an independent CCAR appointed arbitrator ruling.
  • Constantly strive to eliminate all illegal and fraudulent practices.
  • Furnish an itemized list for parts and service, which clearly identifies any new, used, repaired re-manufactured or aftermarket parts used in a repair.
  • Provide a clean, professional environment for receiving customers.
  • Maintain a current source of dimensions covering frame (rails and floor plans), upper body dimensions and wheel alignment specifications for types of vehicles being repaired.
  • Have a measuring device capable of measuring symmetrical or asymmetrical unibody structures including the upper body for the type of vehicle repaired.
  • Have access to a four point anchoring system capable of holding a vehicle in a stationary position during structural and body pulls which is suitable for the types of vehicles being repaired.
  • Have access to electrical or hydraulic equipment capable of making multiple body or structural pulls for repairs.
  • Utilize appropriate welding equipment that meets the vehicle manufacturer's requirements.
  • Replace or restore the vehicle's structural components to its pre-accident condition with regard to location, integrity, durability and safety.
  • Reinstate vehicle corrosion protection to pre-accident condition.
  • Have a spray booth meeting current federal, provincial and local legislation requirements.
  • Utilize a paint application system capable of re-producing an original equipment manufacturer's type finish.
  • Employ Alberta licensed auto body technicians. Employed apprentices must also be Alberta indentured and at the ration for body shops set by the Apprenticeship Board.
  • Demonstrate a concern for the environment and handle hazardous waste in a manner that adheres to current federal, provincial and local regulations.
